    Changing form of light
  • The thin, light, paper like lamp, can be folded by the user like origami."Ori" is made out of 5 separate sheets of inorganic EL which switch on according to the folding position. It is an interactive, intuitive usage object that can be both handy and contribute to the atmosphere of the interior.

    The lamp is controlled by folding - the switches are integrated into the joints, and different part of the EL sheets are lit according to the position of the lamp.

    The project won the Gold Award, of the Koizumi Lighting Design Competition 2011, for students. 
    The theme of the competition was: 
    "In Search of the Way of Light .....Earth-friendly Lighting
    - Form of new era created by light & shadow" 

  • 'Ori' has a double meaning - the folding of 'origami' in japanese, and the 'my light', 'ori' in hebrew.
