This is a laptop design to experiment a new material on cover : ceramic. It has the advantage to be very thin and very strong at the same time. The result can be a large choice of colors and finished as well as new decorative techniques for special version.
My target was here to produce a very simple and iconic product, with simple outline, large colorful area and a highlight on the metal hinge design. 
By placing the hinge a little bit outside the shape, we can get a larger opening angle, while optaining a very special wallet style icon from a top view.
The Ceramic sheet is framed into a metal loop, and it has a completely flat surface, highlighting its slimness.
The screen is borderless made by a single sheet of glass, and the green light hold thin holes on the right side, that can display the time while the laptop is in sleep mode when we cannot look at the bottom-right side of the screen
The palm rest is made of metal and is slightly thinner on the front producting a curved area more comfortable for the hands
Matte treatment of ceramic can result in a colorful yet free of finger-print cover.- Presentation board of the TILE project
