LINK
Taking its inspiration from tools and toys in equal measure, Peter Stathis’s aluminum Link desk lamp impressed the jurors with its well-conceived sustainability and compelling goofiness. “It reminds me of Wall-E,” said Oliver, responding to Link’s form, which connects an expressive L-shaped base to a flying saucer–like disc of 15 LEDs via a highly flexible pantographic arm. “What’s really beautiful about the lamp is that it doesn’t take up space on the table,” noted Breitling. Stathis won extra praise for considering every detail, like an arm-tightening key that snaps into the bottom of the base. “That’s just so smart,” concluded Oliver.
