TWENTY O'EIGHT

A collaboration between designers, a paper merchant, and a printing company, Singapore-based Couple’s 2008 personal planner showcases design craft, printing techniques, and paper stock to designers and other commercial prospects, but it can more easily be described as a fetish object. First, that cool typeface: It’s a modified Avant Garde, with a different number of hanging shadows for each character. Second, every inch of the project is used efficiently, with daily, weekly, and monthly views, twin rulers, holidays listed along the spine, and built-in sticker tabs for making your own calendar pages. “I’d love a printer to send me one of these instead of the crap they usually send,” said Glauber.
