“This thing is so fly,” Brown said, as soon as he spotted iriver’s Spinn multimedia player. “This has a uniquely simple interface and haptic feedback. Within ten seconds of playing with it, you know what’s going on. Plus, there’s its hotness.” The side wheel feels as reassuring as a vintage camera’s film winder, while the needle-like cursor lines on the touchscreen evoke dials on antique radios. After all the jurors had thoroughly ogled Spinn, they turned to iriver’s dainty Domino USB; its contact points pop out of a container not much bigger than a throat lozenge. “It’s pretty sweet,” said Aragaki. “And I love the use of Helvetica.”
